01 · The Series
Curated by Alex Hitzeroth & Sisonke Xonti
Curated by Alex Hitzeroth and Sisonke Xonti, the series brings exceptional musicians and audiences together through intimate live performances. Guided by a shared appreciation for the music and the artists who give it life, Sankayi creates a stage for established masters, contemporary innovators and the collaborations that continue to shape the country's musical landscape.
02 · The Artists
Our stage
Our stage has welcomed an inspiring range of artists, including Kyle Shepherd, Sydney Mavundla, Spha Mdlalose, Ndabo Zulu, Thandi Ntuli, Herbie Tsoaeli, Paul Hanmer, Marcus Wyatt, Andile Yenana, Vusi Mahlasela, Nduduzo Makhathini and many others. Together, these artists represent the depth, diversity and continuing evolution of the music.
03 · Photography
Through the lens
Photography is an integral part of the Sankayi experience. Through the lens, we capture the musicians, the movement, the atmosphere and the fleeting moments that make each performance unique. These images extend the life of the music beyond the stage, preserving its spirit and bringing audiences closer to the artists and their craft.
